Gender revealed!

Harrison and I had our 'anatomy scan' ultrasound September 25 (18 weeks prego). Typically, at this scan, the ultrasound tech is able to distinguish the gender. Fortunately, Baby Williams cooperated and she was able to make the call. We told her that we wished to wait to find out the gender until all of our family and friends could come together. So, she printed out the picture that read 'male' or 'female,' placed it into a very thick envelope, and we took it home with us. For the next ten days, that envelope taunted us to open it!

Finally, Saturday, October 6th arrived. We had our family and friends over for a post-game Tailgate/Gender Reveal Party. I made the banners as decorations in the photo below. I found super cute 6-month old Auburn girl/boy outfits on consignment to display, but also to be useful in the gender revelation (more to come below).

I used this dry-erase board for our guests to get interactive and make their guesses. I took this photo early on in the party, so I think more guesses came in later on in the day.
My mom found football related cupcake toppers: megaphones and purple sprinkles for girl cupcakes and helmets and blue sprinkles for those guessing boy.

Sweet Bernadette tolerated her Halloween costume/gender reveal costume for awhile. She was a good sport/big sis. You can see her sticker that reads, 'What will it BEE?'

Harrison and I debated over finding out the gender privately and then revealing it to everyone vs. revealing the gender to everyone at the same time we were finding out. He preferred to find out in advance while I wanted to find out with everyone. We finally settled on an agreement...marriage IS all about compromise, right?!
During the party, he took the envelope and the Auburn baby outfits into our bedroom alone, read the contents, had his own private moment of celebration, and then came out on the porch to surprise me and our guests with the news. I really liked doing it this way, because other than the day he popped the question, this would be one of his greatest surprises to me of all time!

He placed the appropriate Auburn outfit in a gift bag and had me pull it out for all to see. I was SO EXCITED!

We are absolutely thrilled for Baby Boy Williams!

My family celebrating, minus my sister-in-law and their little girls who weren't able to make it:

My nephews, happy to pop all of the pink balloons:

So very happy!

The name will be revealed when he arrives! We DO have a name, though!
